JDT manager Jimenez in no hurry to name first Team

JOHOR BARU: The new M-League season is just two weeks away but Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) manager Cesar Ferrando Jimenez is in no hurry to name his first choice players, even for an international friendly tomorrow.

Reason - the former Valencia and Athletico Madrid manager has an abundance of talent at his disposal, including two world class players in Pablo Aimar and Luciano Figueroa, both former Argentina internationals.

JDT play Indonesian club Pelita Bandung Raya at the Larkin Stadium tomorrow starting 8.45pm.
"I have not finalised the team that will start the match. Johor is a big team and I am very proud of my players. We want to win every match, with Aidil (Zafuan) or without Aidil, with (Pablo) Aimar or without Aimar."

"The most important thing is Johor and not the players. Johor securing wins in every match is the most important thing," he said at a media conference to announce the friendly match between JDT and Pelita Bandung Raya

Despite being just a pre-season friendly match, Jimenez said he would place great importance on the game as a way to better gauge the level of preparedness among his players before the start of the M-League season.
"We will treat the friendly match seriously," he said.

In its effort to further strengthen the squad this season, JDT had roped in several world-class players like Aimar, Figueroa and two Singapore internationals, Bhaihakki Kaizan, Harris Harun and several local internationals.

Several national senior players who joined JDT this season include Amri Yahyah, Mahalli Jasuli and Asraruddin Putra Omar from Selangor.
The Indonesian outfit skippered by the country's former international Bambang Pamungkas, are also preparing for their own league which starts next month.-- BERNAMA
